Mythes, History and Legends in Sicily Sicily is certainly the most charming and stirring spot of the Mediterranean area. Some of the world’s greatest ancient civilizations with their myths and legend were developed in this area. Therefore the region is often referred to as the cradle of civilization. That’s why it’s very difficult to catch the real essence of this wonderful island, more often you have just a stereotyped and tourist outlook of this land.
