HOW TO REACH SICILY versione francese versione italiana There are many ways to reach Sicily: by plane, by train, by ferry and by car.

The most comfortable and the fastest way to reach Sicily is the airplane.

If you decide to arrive in Sicily by your car from the mainland, you can decide to embark your car on a ferry, boarding from Genoa (about 22hours of journey), Naples (about 9hours), Rome-Civitavecchia (about 11 hours) Livorno (about 18 hours).
It’s preferable to book the ferry, a couple of months in advance.
Info: www.grandinaviveloci.it or www.snav.it or www.tirrenia.it

If you do not want to take the ferry from one of the localities mentioned above, you have to drive direction south, till Naples and take the highway Salerno – Reggio Calabria (free highway), then you have to take the exit Villa San Giovanni direction Port.
At the port there are many ferryboats, with departure every 20 minutes, 24h/24h, 7/7 days.

For those who want to travel by train, the Italian state railways TRENITALIA www.trenitalia.it , connect Sicily to the main European cities. All trains from Europe to Sicily pass from Rome.
All the national trains will arrive at the port of Villa San Giovanni, where every single carriage will be embarked to the ferryboat, crossing the Strait of Messina..
